The present privacy policy sets out the general terms and conditions under which FUNDAÇÃO AGA KHAN PORTUGAL (henceforth AKF Prt), a non-profit legal person governed under statutes approved by Decree-Law no. 27/96, of 30 March 1996, as amended, with tax ID number 503841560 and registered office at Centro Ismaili, Av. Lusíada No. 1, 1600-150 Lisbon, carries out the processing of personal data of visitors and users (hereinafter “Users”) of this website located at «www.solidarity4all.eu», as well as establishes the rights that may be exercised by the data subjects, according to the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council – General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other national legislation applicable in this matter, namely Law 58/2019, of 8 August 2019 (hereinafter “Privacy Policy”).
The present Privacy Policy aims to communicate in a transparent way how the information provided will be processed by AKF Prt, as the data controller of the Users’ data of the Website (managed by AKF Prt).
AKF Prt firmly expresses its commitment to comply with the legislation in force at all times and to process personal data under this Privacy Policy.
Each time personal data is provided to AKF Prt through registration on the Website, the personal data collected will be processed under the legal requirements defined for each particular situation. For AKF Prt, the privacy and protection of the personal data of the Website Users are very important, ensuring all the requirements imposed by GDPR.

«Data processor»: a natural or legal person, public authority, agency, or another body that processes personal data on behalf of the controller.
«Data subject consent»: any freely given specific and informed indication of the data subject’s wishes by which the data subject agrees that their personal data may be processed.
«Supervisory authority»: an independent public authority that controls and enforces compliance with GDPR and other applicable legislation on the protection of personal data. In Portugal, the supervisory authority is the National Commission for Data Protection (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados) (CNPD).
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA?
The personal data controller is AKF Prt, a non-profit legal person, with a registered office at Avenida Lusíada, No. 1, Lisbon, holder of the Tax ID number 503841560.
AKF PRT, as the entity responsible for the management of the Website, undertakes to ensure the privacy of personal data provided by Users electronically when navigating the Website.
WHICH PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED?
When a visitor registers on the AKF Prt website, AKF Prt may collect the IP address for statistical purposes. Email, name, gender, date of birth, location, educational qualifications, or other personal data may be collected with prior consent from the User.

WHAT ARE THE PURPOSES OF THE PROCESSING?
The personal data collected through the Website are intended for the following purposes:
- Communicating ongoing activities and projects or the subscription to AKF Prt newsletters, under the terms defined by the data subject, through their express, free, and informed consent.
- Compiling access statistics to the Website that enable the profile of the Users of the Website to be understood. Statistical information does not include, however, details that may be used to identify the said Users.
- Increasing the level of personalisation of the Website so that it adapts, as far as possible, to the tastes and preferences of the Users according to the data collected.
AKF Prt will not share the information provided by the User through the Website to third parties.
WHO ARE THE RECIPIENTS OF THE PERSONAL DATA?
The data collected is solely and exclusively for processing by AKF Prt.
Under no circumstances will AKF Prt perform international transfers of personal data to a third country or international organisation outside the European Union.
WHERE IS PERSONAL DATA STORED?
AKF Prt takes the necessary and appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of personal data and to prevent unauthorised and unlawful processing, accidental loss, misuse or improper access, destruction, damage, including in case of outsourcing of data processing operations.
AKF Prt emphasises that it will only process personal data for the purposes for which they have been collected, under the terms set out in this Privacy Policy.
AKF Prt reviews its personal data collection, storage, and processing policies frequently to ensure that it only processes personal data that is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the purposes of its processing.
AKF Prt adopts appropriate procedures to ensure that the information is accurate, complete, and current, but it is up to the data subject to update or correct his/her personal information where necessary.
Regardless of all the security mechanisms adopted and the compliance with all the personal data protection rules, the User must be aware that, for example, when browsing the Internet, if their access does not have the necessary protective barriers in place (antivirus, “firewall”, “antispyware”, etc.), the User’s personal data may be seen and used by unauthorised third parties.
In this context, AKF Prt is obliged to alert the User so that they take the necessary precautions for greater security while using the Internet, in particular by ensuring that they use a browser that allows the use of secure communication.
WHAT SECURITY PROCEDURES DOES THE WEBSITE INCLUDE?
AKF Prt takes all necessary and legally required precautions to ensure, taking into account the available technology, an adequate level of protection of the information collected from the Website Users, namely by implementing the necessary technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against accidental destruction, loss or modification, as well as against access and other unauthorized processes, namely: (i) password protection, (ii) physical entry restrictions to the locations where the servers storing the personal data are located; (iii) “firewalls”, (iv) secure communication via HTTPS protocol, using digital certificates.
AKF Prt informs that these security measures are reviewed and updated, according to the needs and the state of the art of these matters.
If for any reason, there is a breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, personal data, AKF Prt will, without justifiable delay and, wherever possible, within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, inform the competent authorities by the applicable legislation. AKF Prt shall likewise report the breach of information to the data subject, by the law applicable.
WHAT ARE THE USERS’ RIGHTS WHEN PROVIDING THEIR PERSONAL DATA?
By applicable legislation, AKF Prt undertakes to respect the confidentiality of the personal information of the data subjects and to guarantee the exercise of the following rights of the data subjects:
- The right to be informed: Users are entitled to obtain clear, transparent, and understandable information on how AKF Prt uses the personal data of the holders.
- The right of access: in addition to the right of information, the User may access their personal data being processed and stored. In such cases, AKF Prt will provide you with access to a copy of the personal data being processed. In addition, when requested by electronic means, the information will be provided in a commonly used electronic format.
- The right of rectification: the User has the right to rectify their personal data if it is are incorrect, out of date or if the User feels it needs completion.
- The right to erasure/right to be forgotten: the User may request AKF Prt to erase their data, however, it should be noted that this is not a universal right, since AKF Prt may have legal grounds or other legitimate interests for the retention of personal data.
- The right of the data subject to withdraw consent for the processing of their data at any time: the User may withdraw consent to the processing of personal data when such processing is based on the data subject’s consent. However, the withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent previously given.
- The right to data portability: the User has the right to move, copy or transfer data from the AKF Prt database to another.
- The right to restriction of processing: the User has the right to request the restriction of the processing of their personal data in the following situations: if they contest the accuracy of the data, if the processing is unlawful and they do not wish to erase the data but only to restrict it, if the data is no longer necessary to AKF Prt but necessary to the User or if they have exercised the right to object as mentioned above, during the period in which AKF Prt examines whether its legitimate interests for the processing prevail over that right or not.
Further to the above-mentioned, to exercise any of the rights listed above, the User may do so by sending an email message to the email address rgpd.akfportugal@akdn.org or contact AKF Prt in writing at Centro Ismaili, Av. Lusíada no 1, 1500-650 Lisbon.
If the User believes that an infringement of his/her rights has occurred, he/she may complain with a supervisory authority. In Portugal, the supervisory authority is the CNPD. More information about the CNPD is available at www.cnpd.pt.
FOR HOW LONG IS PERSONAL DATA STORED?
Personal data will be kept for different periods, according to the purpose for which they are intended and taking into account legal criteria, necessity, and minimization of time of conservation.
Where there is no specific legal requirement, personal data will be stored and kept only for the minimum period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
For example, for newsletters, the retention period begins from the moment consent is obtained through registration on the AKF Prt website and ends when the User unsubscribes. By unsubscribing, the User will receive an email notification and his/her details will be removed from the newsletter mailing list.
HOW CAN THE DATA SUBJECT EXERCISE HIS/HER RIGHTS?
